In The Street

“Street photography is conducted for art or enquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents.”  Mary Warner Marien, 2012.

“The marvels of daily life are exciting; no movie director can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street.” Robert Doisneau

A lot of my work in street photography is in monochrome (black and white), I don’t want the colour to distract from the message in the image. In encountering the world around me I hope to freeze the moment and reveal how rich reality truly is.

“Black and white are the colors of photography. To me they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected.” Robert Frank
